I can't reproduce the problem in the JBT trunk.

I have tried jbdevstudio-win32-4.0.0.v201011181801N-H31-Beta2. It doesn't contain a valid Portlet feature.
The org.jboss.tools.portlet.feature feature and the org.jboss.tools.portlet.ui plugin aren't included in the build. The org.jboss.tools.portlet.core plugin is included in the build.
I have been downloading the latest build (jbdevstudio-win32-4.0.0.v201011221221N-H192-Beta2.jar) to check if it contains a valid Portlet feature.

Where did you download EPP 5.0.1 and JBDS 4.0.0.v201011172142N-H477-Beta2 from?
