note: the version string in the bundle is normally something like 3.0.1.v201006010437R-H98-GA which is too verbose for a splashscreen.

I've made it so it will print 3.0.1.GA in this case. If something else is printed or its not printed at all in a release that is a bug.

You can force the splashscreen to list the full id by passing -DSHOW_BUILDID_ON_STARTUP=true when starting eclipse.

In this case the full version string is displayed.

A last note is that if running from eclipse workspace with the product it will render as 3.1.0.qualifier since the qualifier is dynamically replaced.
