I haven't been able to reproduce the very ugly Fedora rendering but I've tried to remedy it by using just pure "Arial" instead of "Arial Black" since I found a few posts talking about Arial Black not being rendered sensibly on all unix's.

I've also added a "startupVersionFont" property which can be setup in the .product file allowing us to try out different font names, style and sizes.

The default value is "Arial-bold-9"; would be interesting to play with these on the various platforms if problem still persists.

The syntax of font is <fontname>-<style>-<height> where fontname is the font name, style is one of "regular", "bold", "italic" or "bold italic" and height is an integer representing font height. (same as what StringConvert.asFontData(..) does).
