the general question here Hibernate Ant CodeGen is used for run "Hibernate Code Generation" as external process and here we can get difference in generation with internal/external process. So "Generate basic typed composite ids" will have no sence in case of run "Hibernate Code Generation" as external process... This difference could be a reason of following questions...
