I don't think m6 will obsolete this if you're experiencing it... but I can't see what would be causing it. The web poller simply does a check on hostname:webPort  which is usually localhost:8080 or some such. 

If the server is responsive outside of eclipse (after starting it inside eclipse), then the poller should find it. Very interesting. I haven't been able to replicate it.
