Burr Sutter commented on JBIDE-10212:
-------------------------------------

OK, so I understand that getting the archetypes (plus Dynamic Web Project) listed under File-New is a challenge. What if...for now, we simply removed everything under File New and had the main File-New menu option take you directly to Other or just like if the user hit Ctrl/Command N directly.

Granted, this is not normally how Eclipse works, however, this approach of File-New going directly to a dialog/wizard is how Netbeans, Visual Studio, IntelliJ and JDeveloper all work.
In JDeveloper and Visual Studio, Ctrl-N is linked to File-New, no sub-menu items.
In Netbeans, Ctrl-Shift-N is liked to File-New Project, no sub-menu items.

My biggest concern is confusion over having our key "getting started" project types on JBoss Central be different than the ones listed under File-New.

> File-New options should match the Create Projects section of JBoss Central.
> Java EE 6 WAR
> Java EE 6 EAR
> HTML5 Project
> RichFaces Project
> SpringMVC
> Dynamic Web Project
> The ordering should match JBoss Central as well.
> Note: let's discuss these final labels in the comments section.
