Viacheslav Kabanovich commented on JBIDE-8328:
----------------------------------------------

In JDT content assist for input field with Java class is implemented through SubjectControlContentAssistant and CUPositionCompletionProcessor which implement deprecated since 3.2 interfaces ISubjectControlContentAssistant and ISubjectControlContentAssistProcessor.

We reuse class TypePackageCompletionProcessor which implements 'correct' interface IContentAssistProcessor. The code that results in label with 'null' text instead of 'java.lang' is hidden in private method 'generateProposals'. If iteration does not look good, then let's override protected method 'generateTypePackageProposals' that uses it and reimplement the private method as needed.
