Denis, as discussed on mailing list and in other jiras there is differences between java5 and java6 and the IDE need to generate code/launch instances for both. That is why multiple are needed.
Same reason why are we using multiple Seam and AS installations ?
That said - yes, the tests should not take this long; but that is a separate issue.
