Max, I agree, we could even successfully validate the previous versions by first invoking the auto-upgrader and then validating the result (so the error disappears and you get meaningful validation errors).  I'll try to fix it like this.

By the way, we do try to support previous versions as much as possible, it was decided to not try to do this backwards in time though, when doing Drools5, due to resource limitations.
