Nick Boldt commented on JBDS-1780:
----------------------------------

Second attempt:

1. headless install:

{code}
java -jar jbdevstudio-product-linux-gtk-4.1.0.v201107151650R-H633-CR3.jar -console
{code}

2. start JBDS w/ -clean flag:

{code}
cd ~/jbdevstudio/studio; ./jbdevstudio -clean -console -consolelog
{code}

3. Help > Install new > Archive > use zipped Extras site downloaded from http://www.qa.jboss.com/binaries/RHDS/builds/staging/devstudio-4.1_stable_branch.updatesite/extras-Update-SNAPSHOT.zip

4. install only these two features:

{code}
d 4.0K 2011-07-18 12:13 org.eclipse.m2e.feature_1.0.0.201106061504
d 4.0K 2011-07-18 12:13 org.maven.ide.eclipse.wtp.feature_0.13.0.20110623-0455
{code}

5. restart when prompted

6. log is clean (no ~/workspace/.metadata/.log file)

---

This suggests that the problem most likely the list of deps in the com.jboss.jbds.m2e.feature which conflict w/ the base install and cause org.eclipse.equinox.p2.user.ui to be removed.
