So a while back I poked around with the JBDS 5 M2 installer to see how the Welcome Screen was looking in regards to JBDS-1554...

A few things popped out at me that have probably been resolved already

First, there are some bizarre resize issues with the welcome screen on Windows 7. All you see is the "Getting Started" button as in this image: http://tinypic.com/r/d6yro/7

The Seam Project wizard does try to open the Seam perspective. If the Seam perspective is open, the JSF Project wizard will use that, otherwise it will try to open the Web Development perspective. I think this is acceptable behavior in both cases.

So I think this is resolved and we should open new JIRAs for any specific issues that crop up.
