Fred Bricon commented on JBIDE-9281:
------------------------------------
I created https://issues.sonatype.org/browse/MECLIPSEWTP-143 upstream in order to fix this.
As far as I know, the only way to know if it's a web-fragment project is to detect the presence of web-fragment.xml.
> Web Fragment Module facet should be installed instead of Utility Module for mavenized web-fragment projects

> Key: JBIDE-9281
> URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-9281
> Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: maven
> Affects Versions: 3.3.0.M2
> Reporter: Alexey Kazakov
> Assignee: Fred Bricon

> Check out this project: https://github.com/ocpsoft/rewrite
> Import in as an existing maven project.
> rewrite-impl-servlet is a web fragment but Web Fragment Module is not installed. The project gets Utility Module instead.
> It's rather m2e-wtp integration issue I guess, but anyway I'm reporting it here to track the issue.
> It's important for us since we are going to add JBoss KB builder to such projects to have content assist/openOns/validation enabled automatically - See JBIDE-9280
