It is possible that the Window>Preferences>General>Always run in background preference is checked.
If so, you won't see any standard Eclipse progress dialog. They run in the background and are visible only in the Progress view.

If the preference is unchecked and you have applied the patch I have attached, you will get the push request confirmation dialog. 
When you click "Yes",  the "Publishing the ..." dialog will appear.
