The news, blogs and project examples files are cached now. They are downloaded only when they are changed.
If the news or blogs url aren't accessible, the cached data will be used and a warning icon will be shown as in the following screenshot:

Refreshing the news and blogs section will force the download of the news and blogs xml files.
