Koen Aers commented on JBIDE-9554:
----------------------------------
George,
I took some time to look at this issue today and I (hopefully) have good news.
I was able to use the 'git' command from the vanilla Forge command client as well as from the JBoss Tools version by adding the entry %GIT_HOME%\bin to my %PATH% environment variable where %GIT_HOME% is the location where you installed Msysgit (normally this would be 'C:\Program Files\Git').
Can you check if this also works on your environment? If it does, feel free to close the issue.
Cheers,
Koen

> In Windows, when I start the Forge console view and run the command "git", I get the following error:
> {code}
> ***ERROR*** [git] Cannot run program "git" (in directory "D:\eclipse\workspace"): CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified
> {code}
> However, it works fine when I run outside eclipse (in Forge command client).
