----------------------------------
Resolution: Done
This issue has been partially fixed within JBIDE-9774. The is committed to the trunk and 3.3.0.M4 branch.
> and optimally users should be able to say which root directory they want projects downloaded by an example goes to.
Since the standard Eclipse Import>Existing Projects into Workspace action doesn't enable a user to change the destination location, I suppose we also don't have to do that.
If you still think differently, please reopen this jira.
BTW
I have chosen a location to unpack an archive since m2e doesn't provide importing a project from any archive.

> noticed today that project examples goes into a hidden workspace folder instead of where users normally store their projects.
> i.e. /Users/max/Documents/workspaces/jbosstools-trunk/.JBossToolsMavenProjects/numberguess/jboss-as-numberguess
> it should at least be /Users/max/Documents/workspaces/jbosstools-trunk/numberguess/jboss-as-numberguess
> and optimally users should be able to say which root directory they want projects downloaded by an example goes to.
