I moved the client and it's test to github at 

https://github.com/adietish/openshift-java-client


The client there is a plain java project and has no references to eclipse classes any more.
The next step in this issue is to embed this client into a plug-in in tools or to provide a pom that would be able to build an osgi bundle (maven bundle plugin).
