Much time could have been saved had a link to the script simply been provided here:

The script reads as follows:

So, put your mind (and your readers) at ease. All this does is set a property (UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0) prior to running the jbdevstudio launcher.

Oh, and in the interests of accuracy, it's Unity, not uniti: http://unity.ubuntu.com/
