Nick Boldt commented on JBIDE-11524:
------------------------------------

IMHO, "staging" and "nightly" are kinda the same thing. To me, "staging" implies "not fit for human consumption" or "not ready for publication", whereas "nightly" implies "caveat emptor" or "use at own risk".

And while I like the parallelism of "composite" vs. "aggregate" I suspect you'll

a) confuse people, especially since the URLs for the "jbosstools-staging-aggregate" sites will continue to be under http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/nightly/
b) lose the quality distinction between a site that changes hourly (fluid composite of components) and one that changes nightly (aggregate snapshot)

Max, Denis, Len:

Do you see a reason to change this terminology?

> nightly is a very confusing name, that does not reflect at all what really happens.
> We should prefer using "staging" in variable, profiles, jobs, url... to make it clearer
> For instance,
> * jbosstools-nightly-staging-composite -> jbosstools-staging-composite
> * jboostools-nightly -> jbosstools-staging-aggregate
