Based on https://community.jboss.org/wiki/HowToBuildJBossToolsWithMaven3 , I think default profiles should be unified.target (use the unified.target TP for Eclipse.org deps) and jbosstools-staging-aggregate (to resolve against latest aggregate for trunk) in order to have "mvn clean install" working locally just after a checkout. Since the unified.target repo is not updated very often, it is generally not fetched by Tycho and performance are fine.
People who would want even better perf are recommanded to get a local copy of the TP.
