Rob Stryker resolved JBIDE-11455.
---------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

Unfortunatley this is an upstream issue, and cannot be fixed. The server framework waits for the server state to go from stopped to starting. If the jbt server does not immediately go to starting, it is seen as a failure, and the error will show.

Once in starting mode, if the server is changed to stopping or stopped, the wtp framework assumes the startup has failed, and throws an error dialog.

There is currently no way to indicate the startup was canceled. The API in this section goes through launch configurations, with wtp spawning watcher threads in the background. there is no ability to communicate back with the framework.

Sadly this won't be fixed. It's something we all wish could happen, but can't.

> I think there should be no error displayed when you try to start a server when there is one already running and you are warned and you would like to cancel your action.
> Currently you can choose from two options: Either start anyway or change state to Started but don't actually start anything.
> I believe the most common scenario is starting a second server by accident. In that case the user will want to just cancel his action. But if you press Cancel, you still get an error.
