What needs to be ensured in all different scenarios is:
1. Duplicate scanners are not added
2. Scanner is added if path not present
In other words we need to ensure that we have exactly one scanner for each desired location. Not more, not less.
What if we simply search for the path each time we want to add some and if it's not there add it, otherwise don't do anything. Any possible problems with that?
