Alexey Kazakov commented on JBIDE-13247:
----------------------------------------

Actually it's the same for a New Dynamic Web Project wizard. Our Seam tooling set *.seam as default url pattern. You can change it in New Seam/CDI/WEB project wizards but Seam plugins set *.seam as default. So if you have Seam plugins installed then you will get this issue.

> Create new CDI Web project in JBDS 6.0.0.CR1c and you'll get following web.xml:
> {noformat}
>   <welcome-file-list>
>     <welcome-file>index.html</welcome-file>
>     <welcome-file>index.htm</welcome-file>
>     <welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file>
>     <welcome-file>default.html</welcome-file>
>     <welcome-file>default.htm</welcome-file>
>     <welcome-file>default.jsp</welcome-file>
>   </welcome-file-list>
>   <servlet>
>     <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
>     <servlet-class>javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet</servlet-class>
>     <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
>   </servlet>
>   <servlet-mapping>
>     <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
>     <url-pattern>*.seam</url-pattern>
>   </servlet-mapping>
> {noformat}
> IMHO there should be no ".seam" url pattern since that has nothing to do with Seam. Probably jsf would be better. Second thing is that there are no files like those specified in welcome list section. So it generates unnecessary warnings and would be better to remove it or generate these files along with project generation.
