Max Rydahl Andersen commented on JBIDE-12042:
---------------------------------------------

I agree this is far from optimal - but the way it is setup right now in the server editor it is not trivial to make it change all settings when setting to remote server.

It should though be possible for when you create a remote server directly from new server wizard - thus leaving this here for Rob's feedback on that option.

> Currently, if you set up a remote as7 and use the defaults, it won't work.
> You either need to check "Expose your management port" in the server editor (and set up a user in your remote as7 installation).
> Or you need to change the Startup poller to Web poller (instead of JBoss 7 Manager Service which doesn't make sense unless you expose the management port).
> It would be desirable to make this work OOTB - e.g. by default use the web poller - this would be the easiest solution that wouldn't require any extra logic, but also it wouldn't encourage users to use the management api.
> Please, evaluate this and move to a future version if needed.
