Steps to replicate:

1) Create an as7 server, where AS and Eclipse are on different file systems
2) change deploy location to metadata
3) verify in editor deploy and tmp deploy are both absolute paths to some deep location
4) try to publish something
5) break

The temp deploy folder states it is in metadata but the tooling is in fact using the official as7 tmp folder (standalone/tmp) rather than the one the tooling is requiring.
