Max, my answer was only about JBoss EAP. If user select to install JBoss EAP during installation it comes to ${install-folder}/jboss-eap. Runtimes plugin check if this folder exists, detect runtime in this folder and add it without asking user about it. 

All paths configured during installation go to .properties file in installation target folder and runtimes plugin then use these paths to configure runtimes scanning list.
