I don't think it is a regression. In Tycho 0.13, the wildcards were not supported (as PDE does not support them neither), but Tycho remained silent about the "umatched" wildcard entry in build.properties. With Tycho 0.14, Tycho tells you this entry is erroneous and suggests you to remove it.
It is just a more explicit and transparent behavior.
