Since I now cache sources outside Jenkins (JBIDE-11155) in /home/hudson/static_build_env/jbds/tools/sources/build/trunk/, why not add a shell script step to rsync that folder's contents into ${WORKSPACE}/build/:
{code}mkdir -p ${WORKSPACE}/build/; rsync -aqrz /home/hudson/static_build_env/jbds/tools/sources/build/trunk/* ${WORKSPACE}/build/{code}
Then you'd get the latest w/o ever reacting to the content as an SCM change.

> For all component jobs EXCEPT "central" (which has a dependency on a build.xml in its pom):
> * Get jobs only poll this folder instead of the whole build/folder
> -> More consistency, less executions triggered by stuff that is not related to building this compoennt
