1) Start with a clean workspace
2) File -> Import -> Existing Maven Application
3) Browse to /home/rob/git/app9, import it
4) Let eclipse import
5) Right-click project, share via git
6) Open express console
7) Add credentials to expres console view
8) Expand account, right-click app9, select "Create Server Adapter"
9) select openshift server, select next
10) Note hte page is filled out correctly, click finish
11) Open servers view
12) double-click new server
13) Note all fields are appropriately filled out 
14) right-click on the server, select "Switch Location" button
15) Note that a new project is in the workspace, named "Servers"
16) Expand project "Servers", right click the express server, open with -> Text Editor
17) Note the following preference keys exist:

org.jboss.tools.openshift.express.internal.core.behaviour.ApplicationId="769fbce4ec324292938a7aca2d7cbb69" 
org.jboss.tools.openshift.express.internal.core.behaviour.ApplicationName="app9" 
org.jboss.tools.openshift.express.internal.core.behaviour.Domain="yourDomainHere"

I am not able to replicate any failing here at all. My code is up to date. Everything seems to check out fine for me. Are you sure you're following all of the steps here?
