Rob Stryker resolved JBIDE-11064.
---------------------------------

    Resolution: Done

1) issue 1 is being handled in its own issue.
2) The error message is the way I've chosen to alert the user as to the error.
3) You mention there is already a jira open for that one, so lets discuss that information over there.
4) I don't believe I have ever had remote jmx working for app server based on community edition less than 7. (I have only ever had remote jmx work correctly for as7.x and eap6)

Max has made clear to me that jmx is a minor use case and, while useful, should not be given as much attention as other more important issues.

> !ENTRY org.jboss.ide.eclipse.as.core 4 0 2012-02-27 11:26:24.651
> !MESSAGE Error connecting to this server's JMX service: jboss-as-7.0.2.Final on marvin
> !STACK 0
> java.io.IOException: Failed to retrieve RMIServer stub: javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException
> I'm not sure how exactly it works, but I am told that remote JNDI didn't really work in 7.0.2 so maybe that's why?
