Be the installation be performed through SWTBot or p2 director, they are finally both managed by a script.

* p2 director does not perform updates, it'a an uninstall/install
* invoking p2 director needs pre-processing (parsing content.xml and so on, that is complicated
* UI based test mimic what end-users do (click on "Select All" button), and are -IMO- simpler to write and maintain for everyone

UI based tests are cheaper and are closer from real user experience.
