Nick Boldt commented on JBDS-2134:
----------------------------------

This is because we need to be able to point Central at a *single URL* from which to install features, and if I don't combine Extras w/ the TP and Core stuff, dependencies won't be resolved properly.

This is different from a straight p2 update site install via Help > Install or Help > Search for updates, because there p2 can search multiple sites looking for deps.

But with Central, we only get ONE URL per connector.

An alternative implementation to what's there now would be to create a custom composite site for the Extras site, ExtrasPlus, which would include:

* Extras
* Core
* TP

Where the Extras site would only include:

* Extras

This would solve the need to hide the Core/TP stuff, and also provide a site which would work w/ Central.

Is that better, or overkill?
