In JBoss ESB 4.11, a 1.3.1 schema was shipped : 

http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/labs/labs/jbossesb/branches/JBESB_4_11_CP/product/etc/schemas/xml/

It added a boolean "recordRoute" attribute to the <service/> element.    We should support this.
