I suppose you have got a OOM in a forge process, but I can't reproduce it using the standard Windows XP.
It is possible that the forge launcher would need to add some VM options.  Currently, it uses the default VM options, that are probably too low.

Could you connect to the forge proces using JConsole or Java VisualVM?
Try to increase free disk space and reproduce the issue again.
