Looking at your screencast it looks like the clone happened so I'm guessing that the upcoming phase with the maven-import ahngs/fails. The very last step, where the server adapter gets created is executed after the import so it would not get processed if the project import fails. 

* Can you please verify if there really is no clone in your clone destination folder. 
* Can you please verify if there is any valuable information the Eclipse log
* Can you please clone the OpenShift repo manually and try to import the maven project into your JBDS and report if that works
