Not sure I understand your last statement. Please reopen and add a sample project, steps to reproduce the issue, if you feel I'm wrong.

BTW, the JBoss Tools Maven Packaging plugin is used to support http://mojo.codehaus.org/jboss-packaging-maven-plugin/ (currently only jboss-sar is supported), so this is highly irrelevant to your <packaging>far</packaging>
