as mentioned above, steps are:
1) in windows, jboss as 7.x server
2) in rse mode linked to remote,
3) deploy a module, publish, 
4) right-click module, show in file browser,

Ensure error log is clear and that the remote system explorer view opens properly and shows the folder.
