Okey James, so just to be able to put this to rest could you confirm that the issue you are seeing
is because of your network limiting access to download.jboss.org and possibly also devstudio ? 

If yes, then not much we can do about that, except being sad we got censored ;)

about your error on devestudio.jboss.com it seems your proxy or network is not trusting the certificate provided on https://devstudio.jboss.com

Why that is I do not know - only reason I can think of is again some filtering or out-of-date certificate trustee list on your network.

I would be really happy if you help us identify the cause/reason on your side so we can help or at least explain causes of these weird errors for others in similar situation.
