Hi!
I'm having this problem too.
Information about my system, that could be useful:
WinXP SP3
Tried to install with (jre6 & jdk7u7), hangs on both cases.
Tried adding locations or not. hangs on both cases.
Tried installing on path: C:\RedHat\DeveloperStudio5

As David said, there is no error at all, pack installation progress stays at path\studio\jbds_uninstall.ico
First progress bar full blue, label "P2 Director Application", second progress bar empty (gray), label "1/4"

And stays like that forever, until killing the process.
