Try start vncserver locally, check what display was used from console output. Then startr build like

DISPLAY=:1.0 mvn clean instal

This would be the replication of what is going on on Jenkins.

Method waitForIdle should print out all jobs that are running. The problem is replicated with gnome 3.2. See comment a owe how to fix it.
