Yes, the change is needed, because deployment of JDBC driver is named by exact file name which is copied into jboss-as-7.1.x/standalone/deployment/ directory. That file is provided by user to a seamgen setup or in JBTools while you configuring the Database connection. I tried to keep the databaseType variable, but that requires to define Driver in standalone configuration file or create it through admin CLI or Web console. I asked Max on IRC sometimes ago how is it done in JBTools and the result was to use just filename of jdbc driver which is copied into AS 7 deployment.
