Nick Boldt commented on TOOLSDOC-310:
-------------------------------------

4.0.x: http://www.jboss.org/tools/docs/reference/ (top of the page, where it says "4.0.1")
4.1.x: http://docs.jboss.org/tools/nightly/trunk/ (docs in progress, not released yet; when released will be on top of http://www.jboss.org/tools/docs/reference)
3.3.x: http://www.jboss.org/tools/docs/reference/ (scroll down to the third item, after 4.0.1 and 4.0.0)

As to the renamed JIRA: [~mmurray] said: "Renaming as the latest doc link hasn't gone anywhere. It just needs redirecting to the right place."

Re: "wall of text": http://docs.jboss.org/tools/nightly/trunk/ and http://www.jboss.org/tools/docs/reference/ are just as text-heavy, as they provide the same links. Only difference is the CSS.

Evidently we have a difference of opinion on what "minimal effort to maintain" means. [~maxandersen] wants "add a link to docs.jboss.org/tools/ for each new release". The rest of us want "don't to anything to docs.jboss.org/tools/ because all the content is on www.jboss.org/tools". His solution is TWO steps, Michelle's is ONE. My definition of "less" is that the number of steps is fewer, but evidently YMMV.

> for some reason https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-documentation/pull/48 removed the latest link assuming latest is used to point to the nightly build.
> That is not what it is for.
> It is to point to the latest docs made available.
> This link (before: http://docs.jboss.org/tools/latest/) was used to point to the last latest documentation.
> I believe this should be put back since this is how other docs refer to the latest version.
> We could even go so ar to create a docs.jboss.org/tools/4.0, docs.jboss.org/tools/3.3 etc. folder each with their /latest link in them.
> Latest links are trivial to make with sftp as part of the release upload anyway thus should be all possible to script if it is too cumbersome to remember.
