@maxandersen: Yes, as per the instructions in https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation//en-US/JBoss_Enterprise_SOA_Platform/5/html/JBoss_SOA_BPEL_Guide/chap-Managing_Processes.html#Deploy_a_Process_Using_JBoss_Developer_Studio which tell the user to import projects from the samples/quickstarts folder within the SOA-P 5.3.1 install folder (unpacked zip). Since these projects contain no .project files, they cannot be imported to JBDS directly without some additional magic. 

Many of those quickstarts are partial duplicates of the content in Grid's workspace referenced by the com.jboss.jbds.bpel.examples plugin in SVN. But the versions in SVN can actually be imported. :)
