a) I think the automatic closing is what throws me off.  
b) And the fact that it is unclear how to get console.log in deviceready 
c) the last item that gets me...and this is my own learning curve issue...cordova needs a plugin for console.log to work - I tend to forget that and think of it as a regular web app.

how hard is it to fix a & b?
