The errors you have seen are related to JBIDE-13535.
The archetype uses the 1.0.4.Final-redhat-1 version of bom that isn't included in the http://maven.repository.redhat.com/techpreview/all Maven repository yet.

You need a runtime when running the project. Based on the selected runtime, the archetype decides whether to install the community or enterprise type of the project.
