I gave it a shot, it is really hard migration, especially with such amount or intrenal API used. If anyone interested there is branch kepler in my fork of hibernate tools [here|https://github.com/dgolovin/jbosstools-hibernate/tree/kepler]. 
What is done:
1. org.hibernate.eclipse.console migrated to kepler, it is built without errors and tests run without errors
2. Most difficult to migrate plugins are jpt.core and jpt.ui down to 498 problems from 800

Most likely it is long migration and we should consider to release hibernate tools without jpt integration for 4.1.0.Alpha1.
