setting "." helps eclipse not to use browserSim when it doesn't needed. When eclipse opens in web browser, it goes through browser list. Firstly it checks browser availability and compares path using startsWith. Before fix browsersim path was empty string, and startWith returns true to every available browser. So <FFpath>.startsWith("") returns true and that's why browserSim was used against FF.
