I totally understand the issue I guess we could contribute a "Build As..." menu in JBT/JBDS, but :
* historically, all build tools contribute to the "Run As..." menu (ant, maven, gradle ...), so it'll be inconsistent with the general Eclipse Experience
* we'd have duplicate menu entries as Maven will still have its entries under "Run As..."
* we can't force other tools to contribute their stuff to our "Build As..." entry

This would better be addressed at the Eclipse IDE level, IMO. But I know trying to change things there is a real challenge.
