Nick Boldt commented on TOOLSDOC-426:
-------------------------------------

The above URLs for staging builds show my links are good, eg., http://www.qa.jboss.com/binaries/RHDS/builds/staging/devstudio.product_71/installer/jbdevstudio-product-Central-7.1.0.CR1-v20131114-2143-B534.zip is a downloadable zip linked from http://www.qa.jboss.com/binaries/RHDS/builds/staging/devstudio.product_71/installer/

So now we'll have the zip posted to EA site (and another thing to add to CSP). Added bonus / potential confusion is that the live unpacked TP site referenced in Central itself will be named / versioned differently from the zip, but this is intentional because the zip is a snapshot in time whose name/version aligns with the JBDS update site & installer jar, produced at the same time... whereas the live site is subject to change as Central can be updated out of band.

Therefore I think my part here is done (as long as *I remember to push the new zip & md5 file to earlyaccess in two weeks!*).

Doc-wise, I would state clearly that:

* the zip is a snapshot of Central taken at the time the milestone (or GA) was produced, and
* for the up-to-the-minute latest Central, you need to go online, eg., to https://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/7.0-development/central/core/ (later https://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/7.0/central/core/ once we GA).

> JBDS Central TP (3rd party) zip enables user to install 3rd party plug-ins while offline.
> How is this implemented?
> * Do users initiate the install download of Central TP from within IDE (like JBoss Central examples offline)?
> * Or do users download the zip from access.redhat (+ other sites) like the update zip?
> * And once users have zip how do they install bits of it? Window > Install New Software and point to zip on system (like install from update zip)?
> Will require a new section in User Guide, Central chapter, probably in customization section.
