Oh, I believe 1 minute is more than enough. I have tested inAppBrowser/ChildBrowser on windows, mac os and ubuntu and everything seems to work just fine. I will test in on Fedora 18.
But I do have one question. Could you try to run BrowserSim and open http://apache.org/ . How long will it take to load the page?
